This doesn't look like new to me. It looks more like it could be an earlier prototype - missing SD card slot, no way to turn off wireless. It also appears to be bigger and clunkier, but with the same size screen. The rumors I've heard have mentioned a larger screen, which would be better for reading textbooks. The Kindle isn't a perfect device, but I'm very happy with mine for what it is. I find it easy to read books on its screen for long periods and it's a lightweight way to carry around lots of books.
