No, we don't need to listen to anything either of them SAID in the debate. No, no, let's just look at the flag-pins on their chests. I mean that's the whole damn point of the debate, right?
I thought about that, but I don't think Nolan can go in that direction. One element of the Batman myth which never changes is that Batman works in tandem with the Gotham police department on an unofficial basis. It's nearly as central to the character as kryptonite. Obviously, the end of the Dark Knight shakes things up a bit, and necessitates a third installment in which Gordon chases Batman for most of the movie. But the important thing is that if the third movie ends with Batman still on the run, I would argue that it's no longer really a Batman movie -- it's a movie about a fugitive who dresses like a bat. Gordon smashing the Batsignal only had emotional resonance in TDK because we all know it has to be put back together at some point. And I'm pretty sure that the Nolans wrote themselves into a corner, where no possible explanation for the Batsignal turning back on is going to feel genuine.
Wow, apparently people are idiots and don't realize that standing on the clutch at a red really is bad, as well as rather uncomfortable. recycled mirror glass

It was exactly that hyperinflation that the National Socialists resolved when they nationalized the banking industry. That was the whole point. Germany went from hyperinflation where the currency was practically worthless to an amazing economic recovery and it didn't take 70 years, as they'd been told. It just took getting the banking industry under control.
