Sure, I'm sure we've all done things that our parents would have scolded us for, and there's a much closer eye on these particular kids than there was on any of us. However, it pisses me off to no end that she's allowed to inundate us all with her high-and-mightier-than-thou ***** and "counsel" us on our moral choices when she will never acknowledge, at least publicly, that her family is just as *****-up as the rest of us. A pregnant daughter (or a crazy cover-up), a son who does drugs, a little girl who misbehaves in public - these are definitely not out of the ordinary and nothing to be ashamed of, although it sounds like they could all use a little more parental guidance. But for Christ's sake, just don't act like it's wrong when -other- people do it and forgivable when it's your own family.

Let them fail? It's going to be difficult to get a loan for anything like a car or house even if you are in good credit standing. I'm not a fan of the bailout, but at this rate it will be too expensive and difficult to get loans from the bank (both big and small banks). Even small businesses are starting to feel getting choked up by not getting the short term credit they need.
