Colonization of Mars spells disaster for Earth. I can already imagine it now. Big insurance agencies forcing people to sign life insurances in case colonists don't make it all the way to Mars. The rich and the poor are going to be widely divided, by millions of miles. The truly wealthy can afford to pay for their own piece of land on Mars, and leave this dust ball behind. All that's left are the unfortunate citizens of the planet to fight it out over the remaining resources on Earth. And well you got pretty much the big corporations already taking those so they can export to Mars, leaving none for the rest of the world. And the propaganda will cause some to support it and invest in it. "Mars is the future." Maybe, it just matters which comes first. Will the world end first causing people to leave it and settle more peacefully? Or will the colonization of a new planet cause the destruction of this world. Who knows? I sure don't. Glad to see Rockbox is getting some publicity on Digg. Even if the GUI doesn't look as good, look into Rockbox guys. It has more support for audio codecs, more EQ settings, and even has a gameboy emulator (and Doom/Pac-man/other games). It's truly awesome.
