He could have kept the rights and then distributed it internationally by himself and gotten the near same level of exposure. The way that the law works, stopping ideas (intellectual property) at borders is absurd considering the era of information exchange we are in. I would like to add "immediately turning your key to start the engine." I always follow the procedure of inserting the key, turning the key to the furthest position before igntion. You will hear the fuel pump come on and then turn off, and your dashboard lights will all come on and then turn off (this is a diagnostic procedure.) After all of the lights go out, THEN you start your car.
