The G1 is limited by its hardware, which admittedly is a bit underpowered for the capabilities of Android. Of course, being the first (major) commercial incarnation of an open-source phone, it would be unfair to judge against a phone that's had well over a year's head start- you may recall there was plenty not to like about the 1st-gen iPhone, which even had the benefit of being able to build on their iPod Touch technology. All I'm saying is, I don't think we've even seen a fraction of what Android can do, given the proper hardware reqs (no video- wtf?), Apple will still be sexy and new versions will add "one more thing", but Android's only limit is hardware. I like this prospect in the long run.
